Meet Belinda: A Remarkable Young Woman

Allow us to introduce you to Belinda Agbeko, a remarkable young woman who has captured the hearts of our volunteers here in Ghana. Belinda is from a poor family in the town of Ho, which is also home to our Children’s Home project. Despite facing difficult circumstances, Belinda has a heart of gold and has always been willing to lend a helping hand at our Home. With almost 30 children, including many with special needs, our Home relies on every pair of hands. That’s why Belinda is like a treasure to us – always ready to offer her time and love to the children. Her love and dedication to the children are truly inspiring.

We wanted to express our gratitude for Belinda’s selflessness, so we attempted to give her a small token of appreciation. However, she would always graciously decline, saying, “These are my brothers and sisters too.” This speaks volumes about Belinda’s character, always putting others before herself.

However, a wonderful opportunity came knocking for Belinda when she was accepted into nursing college in Takoradi. This was a dream come true for her, but the reality is that the fees for such an education are beyond the means of most families, including Belinda’s. But thanks to the generosity of the Blackrock Connect Credit Union, Norman McDonnell and his team, Belinda’s fees were fully covered. They donated 500€, making a huge difference in Belinda’s life. In the video, she shares her heartfelt gratitude for the support she received.

As we enter the Christmas season, we urge you to consider giving a donation to Crosscause. Every penny will be spent wisely and will make a significant impact, just like it did for Belinda. Your donation will make a real difference in the lives of those in need, and you can see it firsthand through Belinda’s story.

Belinda’s determination and passion for helping others have not gone unnoticed, and we know she will excel in her nursing studies. But more importantly, she will use her skills to make a positive impact in her community and beyond. We are proud to have played a small role in supporting her dreams and are grateful for all the volunteers and donors who make it possible for us to continue our work in Ghana.

So next time you’re looking to make a difference, whether it be through a donation or volunteering your time, remember Belinda’s story and the impact we can all make when we come together. Thank you for being a part of the Crosscause family and for helping us change lives, one person at a time. Happy holidays from all of us here at Crosscause.
