Casa Ion is our family home where long-term volunteers Claire and Ionel Melinte live with their five children. Casa Ion was constructed in 2008 specifically for three local children, recently orphaned and sent to the state “Placement Centre” where they were miserable. After a year of difficult negotiations, red tape and court cases, in 2009 they were finally allowed to come to their new home. The family has since grown and all five children are enjoying the benefits of living in a big, loving family.
