This year we were very fortunate to have two visits from a briliiant volunteer, Graham Banks. Graham has years of experience, both in England and Romania, and since first coming to us in 2009, he has set up a fantastic training program for our care staff. Previous training programs have included; a course on encouraging independence in adults with disabilities, sensory training, dealing with challenging behaviour and resolving conflicts in the workplace. This year included very practical workshops, showing our staff activities that they can do with all our residents such as, puppet making, story-telling, dough modelling and sewing. Graham’s brilliant sense of humour, positivity and enthusiasm is infectious and our staff always come away very motivated to do even more with and for our residents. This kind of training is not offered anywhere in Romania and we are so grateful to Graham for sharing his expertise, knowledge and advice. We look forward to his next trip!
