As winter approaches, our organization is gearing up for our annual Winter Aid Truck initiative. Every year, we send trucks filled with essential supplies to orphanages and homes for children with disabilities in Romania. This year, we are extending our efforts to also support Ukrainian refugees who have been affected by the ongoing war in their country. Located just two hours away from the Ukrainian border, our Romanian project allows us to provide aid to those who are in desperate need.

As we prepare for this year’s aid truck, we are once again calling on the generosity of our community through our Christmas Shoebox appeal. It’s a simple idea – pack a shoebox with gifts and essential items, and we will collect and deliver them to our facilities in Romania. We are grateful to our friends at Rocksalt Caffe for their ongoing support and for allowing us to use their cafes as collection points for the shoeboxes.

We understand that not everyone has the means to donate large sums of money, but with this appeal, anyone can make a meaningful contribution. By packing a shoebox with items that many of us take for granted, such as warm clothing, toiletries, and toys, you can help bring joy and comfort to those in need during the cold winter months.

These shoeboxes may seem like small gestures, but they have a huge impact on the children and families who receive them. For many, it’s a rare opportunity to receive a gift and feel a sense of care and love from others. It also serves as a reminder that they are not forgotten during this difficult time.

We are aiming to collect at least 500 shoeboxes this year, and we hope to surpass that goal with the help of our community. You can also make a monetary donation to our Winter Aid Truck initiative, which will go towards purchasing additional supplies and covering transportation costs.

No donation is too small, and every little bit helps. We encourage everyone to get involved and spread the word about our Christmas Shoebox appeal. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate and bring them some warmth and happiness during the winter season. Thank you for your support and generosity. Let’s make this winter a little brighter for those in need.
