Crosscause Stephen’s Day Fundraiser Raises €15,000
Blackrock, Co. Louth – 27 December 2025
Crosscause has paid tribute to the incredible generosity of the local community after this year’s St Stephen’s Day fundraiser on Blackrock Beach raised approximately €15,000 in support of the charity’s ongoing work.
Despite cold weather — and in the shadow of recent storm damage — crowds turned out in their hundreds to take part, donate, cheer and support the now-iconic festive event, organised with the help of the dedicated Crosscause volunteer group.
This year’s playful “Make Blackrock Great Again” theme added colour and humour to the morning, while never losing sight of the purpose behind the day: helping vulnerable communities who rely on Crosscause projects.
“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who turned up, donated, volunteered, sponsored, dressed up or simply encouraged others to come along,” said organiser Conor Hughes. “Raising around €15,000 is an incredible achievement, and it shows just how strong the spirit of Blackrock really is.”
“These funds will directly support Crosscause’s humanitarian work — and every single person who contributed should feel proud of what we’ve achieved together.”
Conor also paid tribute to the volunteers who worked quietly behind the scenes to plan, steward, collect donations and keep the event running safely.
“Nothing like this happens without committed people giving their time. Our volunteers were outstanding — as always.”
Crosscause extended thanks to local supporters, businesses, media, and the wider community for continuing to back the event year after year.
Plans are already being discussed for 2026 — but for now, organisers say the focus is on gratitude.
Its not too late to contribute to this years campaign …
